What is Micro-BatchTM?
Close your eyes . . . picture a kitchen. Not one of those fancy high-falutin kitchens, but the kind of kitchen your grandma may have cooked in. In that kitchen is a kettle that bears the essence of every batch of goodness ever cooked within.
Imagine in that kitchen, lovingly stirring the kettle – almost caressing its contents, while relishing every olfactory sensation, is a man. Part inventor, part chef, part urban legend, part artist, he creates. The kettle is his palette, the spoon his brush, and fresh ingredients his paints. He takes his time; “In haste, nothing worthwhile comes,” he says.
One day, a man named Juan (who knows a thing or two about good food), summoned by the aromatic fragrance emanating from the kitchen, said to the man, “I know of a place where you’ll have the freshest vegetables, the creamiest cheese, and when it suits you, the perfect pepper. Come, cook in my kitchen and let your creations be known to all who can appreciate your work.”
“But Juan,” the man said, “my craft is in the kettle. Without my kettle, art my work fails to be.”
“Then your kettle comes, too,” Juan exclaimed. “We’ll create a symbol, a mark to identify these small kettle-cooked batches, and the big flavor that results.”
From that day on, Juan and the man cooked together in Juan’s kitchen, using the man’s kettle, creating culinary works of art, and stamped each with the “Micro-Batch” seal.
